WIRES AND TERMINALS

This one-day course is geared toward the student with limited knowledge of electronic assembly and soldering or that want to enhance their existing skills.

This course is also a good preparatory course for those needing J-STD-001 certification.


Material in this 1-day course of lecture and hands-on workmanship practice consists of:

• Explanation of wire types characteristics, AWG, and insulation
• Tools and equipment for stripping and tinning wire
• Parameters for cut and strip length.
• Demonstration of stripping of insulation
• Guidelines for nicks, scrapes, broken strands, insulation damage, frays and reduced insulation thickness.
• Wire tinning
• Solder Terminals
• Preparation and mechanical attachment
• Soldering of wires to terminals.
• Various types of crimps and crimping tools are also discussed.

This course can be customized for your company's requirements.

Upon completion student will receive a certificate of accomplishment from Conformance Technologies.
