ANSI/J-STD-001 Certified Application Specialist Certification and
Recertification
This is the industry standard for commercial and high-reliability assemblies. The standard describes materials, methods and verification criteria for producing high quality soldered interconnections and assemblies. Training is based on 5 different modules. Operators must be trained on the introductory section, and then may be trained on other modules covering: wires and terminals, through-hole technology, surface mount and inspection.
IPC-A-610 Certification and Recertification
The IPC-A-610 "Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies" is the most widely used specification published by the IPC for the electronics manufacturing industry. This publication is a visual document that provides comprehensive accept/reject criteria for handling of electronic assemblies, marking, coatings, laminate conditions, discrete wiring assembly and surface mount assemblies.
